It’s festival season again and the one that we’re most excited about is Liverpool’s very own Creamfields. This year Kasabian are headlining the August Bank Holiday festival and some of the latest acts to confirm include Pendulum, Underworld and Tiesto. So there are no worries on the music front…now the big question, ‘What are you gonna wear?!’
There’s no reason why festivals and fashion can’t mix, and Creamfields, now in its tenth year has long been known as one of the summer’s most stylish festivals, even attracting uber glam celebs like Coleen McLoughlin.
This summer is all about bohemian glamour, a trend which is more ‘polished’ than the first time we saw it on Sienna et al, nevertheless still really easy to wear and definitely festival friendly. You can’t go wrong if you choose for a loose kaftan or summer dress in a bold ethnic print or tribal pattern, the brighter the better. Layer it up with a waistcoat, whether it be fringed, studded or even quilted, to add a rockier edge and choose outlandish accessories- a floppy hat or printed headscarf and tons of gold or wooden jewellery.
If hippy chic isn’t your thing, shorts and skirts in acid bright oranges, pinks and green would look great with a vest. Or try out tie dye; H&M and Topshop have a great selection, from shoes to dresses, you’ll be guaranteed to turn heads. Notoriously, anything goes with festival fashion so be adventurous!
Whatever you wear, remember flat shoes are a must, gladiator sandals are bang on trend or opt for wellies to avoid the mud! Sunglasses too are essential, whether you are still embracing last year’s super sized shades or if you’re rocking this summer’s retro style.
