After weeks in the making, LX News can today unveil its latest creation – the UK’s first student desktop news ticker. Developed in partnership with Mioplanet Technologies and based on the highly successful BBC News Ticker and Associated Press Television Network Ticker, the LX News Ticker is designed to allow students in Liverpool and across the country to receive the latest student-focused articles directly to their desktop.
Francisco Esteves, Managing Director of LX News Ltd, the parent company of LX News, said, “Following the success of our print newspaper, we began to shift our focus to our website and how we could facilitate access to our online articles. The desktop news ticker does just that, by allowing our readers in keeping up-to-date with our articles, without the constant worry of having to check our website.”
“I’m also proud to say that LX News is the first student newspaper to commission and launch a student-focused desktop news ticker in the UK, due to our constant strive to set higher standards for ourselves and other student media organisations across the country.”
Jean-Baptiste Martinoli, Managing Director of Mioplanet Technologies said, “Desktop News Ticker technology is generally reserved for large companies, so it was great when LX News first approached us with their idea, especially as it is something completely new to the student newspaper market. A simple desktop news ticker can create a permanent link between the news organisation and its readers and I am confident that the LX News Ticker will enjoy much success in the future.”
The LX News Ticker is available for download at lxnews.co.uk/ticker.
