Results for this years John Moores student union election have now been released showing a landslide victory for the ‘Dream Team’ slate winning 12 out of 13 available positions. All candidates from the slate prevailed, with Jeff Henry being the only candidate of the ‘Absolute’ slate to win a position.
Turnout was high in this year’s election with over 2500 LJMU students registering their vote, a 56% increase in last year.
Edward Symondson, LSU President-Elect, speaking exclusively to LX News, expressed his delight at the outcome of the election. “I am extremely delighted with the results and am very proud of the effort from all of the team and the friends that helped us. We put in the hours day and night and this was well received. This year is hopefully the year that L-S-U can move forward and put the past behind and start enjoying a great friendly student atmosphere and hopefully bring the union to the students.”
