The Echo has announced its nominees for the award of a temporary ‘Scousehood’. Eight winners will receive Honorary Scouse citizenships, and become Ambassadors for the City in its year as Capital of Culture. They will also be awarded a Scouse passport. The award aims to remind ‘the world about the gigantic strides the city is making’. The eclectic list of nominees includes Nelson Mandela, Stevie Wonder, the Dalai Lama, the Pope, Vladimar Putin, the King of Thailand, Kylie Minogue and Mickey Mouse.
