SOUND CITY LAUNCH PARTY

Venue: Barfly Acts: The Rascals, The Delta Fiasco, Christian, The Vagabonds, Ezra Bang and Hot Machine, The Klaxons…Cause: Sound City Launch Party…. Sound whatty what thingy?!?! Sound City: the 4 day international music festival, and the soon-to-be word on everyone’s lips. And, if the Barfly’s tantalising Valentines Launch party with its electro thumping, heart pumping, foot tapping, body snapping beats is anything to go by, this four day party festival is a must.

Kicking off on the 27th May in our very own capital of culture, Sound City, in partnership with SXSwest and Popkomm, will bring to you some of the greatest signed and unsigned bands the industry currently has to offer. By day the city will become European Capital of (music) Conference, where by the music bigwigs from all across the UK, Europe and USA, will battle it out in music related debates, workshops and education programmes. By night, the city’s car parks, warehouses, bombed out churches, cinemas, cellars, and more typical music venues, will be bombarded with artists, DJs and bands: household names, rising stars and fresh meat alike will frequent the city’s creative haunts bringing to you an explosion of musical talent all across Liverpool.

With BBC 6Musics’ legend and all round music god Steve Lamacq curating the festival, this is not one to miss. Also jumping on the Sound City bandwagon are Radio One, MySpace, and Second Life, the internet phenomena which will allow fans from all over the world to tune into gigs from around the city, as and when they take place. And, if you think this sounds cool, wait to you hear about the magical mystery gigs, label parties and some of the top headlining acts that have already been confirmed. Its time to get very very excited.
