Liverpool fans are forever being quoted as wanting their team to bring home the Premier League above all other trophies, but is this media-influenced viewpoint entirely accurate? As a Liverpool fan living in Liverpool, I had to go into the city centre to watch last season’s Champions League final, and although the Reds lost, it was one of the most memorable days in my life. The atmosphere, the anticipation and the tears provided more excitement and emotion in ninety minutes than the whole of the Premier League season. The same can be said for the most recent cup triumphs over West Ham and AC Milan, the three cups of 2001, and even the European semi-final victories over Chelsea. There is no shame in being a cup team - it provides the sort of excitement and instant glory that the league never can.

Hear Hear!
I agree entirely.
25th of May 2005 to this day remains the best moment of my life, until Moscow this year that is.
I get more excitement and nerves the day of a Champions League game than I do in a whole season of Saturdays.
I’m a season ticket holder for Anfield, and dont get me wrong, walking up the steps to my seat in the Main Stand on a Saturday still sends shivers of excitement down my spine, but history shows it,Liverpool are a team destined for greatness in Europe, and thankfully,in my lifetime too, they’ve done just that.
