Student Trustee Candidates

Due to space constraints in the print issue, we were unable to give you the full breakdown of manifesto exhibits of all the candidates. However, in the name of fairness, we can exclusively bring you some of the main ideas of the other candidates in the running for Student Representative Officer in the Guild Elections 08.
Dave Lawrence
• “I want YOU to TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK about the guild, what annoys you, what you want to stay, what you want to change.”
• “I lots of ideas about how we can improve the social side of the guild, the shops and resources, the societies and events”
Natasha Sleave
• She has “worked with a number of groups on various campaigns promoting student health and well-being”
• “The aim of my Presidential year is to lobby the university to change its approach to policy and any issues that may occur, and to instil the ethic of “Students First”.”

Andy Godden
• Current Liverpool University Student Theatre Treasurer
• He will “target campaigns at freshers, and make them aware of the services available to them in terms of sexual/mental health, transport, accommodation and finances”
Jenna Gill
• Chair of Management Board of Liverpool Student Community Action#
• “My aim will be to give all students the opportunity to gain value for money for the fees they are paying”
Klaus-Peter Istvan Dudas

Matthew Gadsby

• “The issues that affect minority groups are important to me’. ‘The success of the Guild is more important than turning a profit”
Robert Britton
• Business experience in an international company
• “My aim is to utilise the space in the Guild more effectively”
Abigail Deffee
• ‘Finance is the number one concern affecting students. Lessening these worries needs to be a priority’
• “I would like the [SRO] office to serve as a ‘drop-in’ centre”
Elen Griffith
• International Student Coordinator on the Executive Committee of the Christian Union
• “ I believe that each student as the right to representation and expression of their views and I feel that I have the necessary qualities to ensure that this happens on both national and local levels”
Edward Moloney

• “I am aware of the current issues facing us and the options available to the guild to resolve them. “

• “As an international student myself, I know what the students really need”
