ODDBALL COMEDY COMES TO DVD
Having already reached the stratospheric levels of being “New Zealand’s fourth most popular folk parody duo”, Flight of the Conchords were soon given their own fantastic TV show, now available on DVD.
The series follows naïve Kiwi musicians Jemaine Clement and Brett McKenzie as they try to come to terms with living in big scary New York City, guided by incompetent manager Murray Hewitt and stalked by their one obsessive fan Mel.
Like most comedies, the humour springs from the fact that Bret and Jemaine have no idea their songs aren’t exactly lyrical masterpieces. For instance their song ‘Business Time’ is a sultry tale of lovemaking told by a man who’s oblivious to his wife’s boredom of him.
Don’t miss out.
