Asda has asked its customers to return over 300,000 of own brand microwaves because of fire risk concerns, it has been reported. The Durabrand XB2316 model, which retailed for £22.75, was not manufactured with batch numbers, leaving Asda with no other choice but to recall the entire range, following complaints by three customers.
Customers have been urged to check their microwaves and if they are the XB2316 model, stop using the appliance and take it back to any Asda store for a full and immediate refund. They do not need to return the box or produce a receipt.
If in doubt, you can get more information from Asda’s consumer helpline on 0500 100 055.
