REVIEW: FLINT STREET NATIVITY

ADULTS PLAY CHILDREN IN QUIRKY FESTIVE COMEDY

Tim Frith tells the Christmas story with a twist as adults play children taking part in the Flint Street school play. Characters smile shyly at parents in the audience, forgetting lines, miming, and removing costumes as Frith humorously plays upon the unpredictable nature of children on stage. This light-hearted ambience has a more serious moral tone, which is poignantly revealed at the end as Frith presses the audience to consider the effect adulthood has upon the impressionable young mind. A highly effective, warm-centred and moving story which will undoubtedly set the mood for Christmas.

The Flint Street Nativity is on at the Everyman until January 20th
