SURVEY AIMS TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO TAKE PART IN SPORT
David Naylor
Last week saw the launch of the annual survey on student sport in the UK. Although students have a greater access to sports facilities than the broader population, only 23% carry out the recommended amount of half an hour’s daily exercise. However, 65% believe that exercise is “extremely important” and the popularity of this survey only serves to enhance this view.
The survey also aims to encourage students to take part in physical activity, and to develop data on student participation in sport. Previously the survey has seen over 22,000 students take part from 110 institutions, 1,660 of those coming from Liverpool.
